The Dying Detective -BBC Sherlock Holmes Series-

I'm currently listening to BBC's Dramatized series of Sherlock Holmes again since the enhanced audio format is available for the Holmes series.

I listened to "The Dying Detective" yesterday, and the Clive Merrison's acting is really marvelous.
I'm quite sure you feel Holmes is dying.
Holmes pretend to be mad and talk about oisters, half crowns etc., and it sounds he is really mad.
But he became real Holmes suddenly at the end.
Great...

Holmes's speaking occupy almost half of this short story, but you will not be bored, rather you can enjoy this story more than other stories.

シャーロックホームズ 瀕死の探偵 は傑作

Audibleの高音質モード　Enhanced Format　が使えるようになってから、改めてシャーロック・ホームズの BBC Dramatizedシリーズを聞き返しています。

昨日聞いたのは"瀕死の探偵"ですが、ホームズ役のクライブ・メリソンの演技(しゃべり　といったほうがよいですね)が本当にすごいです。
ホームズの瀕死っぷりが、伝わります。
錯乱して、牡蠣の話とか半クラウン(通貨の単位)の話などする、という設定なのですが、本人が本当に錯乱しているかのようです。
対して最後の締めは、はっきりと元のホームズに戻る。
すごいです。

この話自体半分くらいホームズがしゃべっている感じなのですが、全く飽きないどころか、ほかの短編より楽しいかもしれません。

に収録されていますので、興味のある方はぜひどうぞ。
他の短編も秀逸です。
